UNNIM BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT"
Sant Julià de Vilatorta (Barcelona)
on August 26, 27 and 28, 2011
The 27th Unnim Basketball Tournament is a preseason tournament organised by the Sant Julià Basketball Association, enjoying the support and collaboration of the Catalan Federation, the Catalan College of Referees and the Catalan Coaches Association.
The 27th Tournament is open to all teams, whether male or female, federated (all ages / categories) or amateur or social (only in senior male and female categories). Many of these teams make use of the three days of the tournament to hold a "Preseason camp". To make all this possible, the organisers can help you to choose the right accommodation (summer camps, hostels, hotels) and meals (catering) options for your situation.
The teams will be divided into more than 30 different categories, depending on sex, age and level (see “Categories” section). Most teams will play 4 or 5 games (minimum 4, maximum 6). Games will consist of 4 periods of 7.5 minutes (times outs, free throws, etc, according to Catalan Basketball Federation regulations) and will be overseen by referees and scorekeepers from the Catalan Basketball Federation. These games will be played simultaneously on 30 different courts, in 14 different locations in the county of Osona (all less than 30 Km from Sant Julià de Vilatorta).
During the 27th Tournament there will also be other basketball-related activities, such as the Coaching Clinic, the Albert Tobal Trophy for male cadets, and the 3-pointer and slam-dunk contests, all of which are free to enter. You will also be able to watch the now traditional ACB league preseason matches, for which you can buy tickets at a special discount. Participants will also be able to use the swimming pool in Sant Julià for free, and over the 3 days of the tournament there will be plenty of other leisure activities, all of which are free.
The Unnim Basketball Tournament has been consolidated as the great Catalan summer basketball festival. This year we are hoping to break the record of 242 participant teams and 600 basketball matches set in 2010 and also increase the number of teams arriving from the rest of Spain and other European countries.
